Inelastic neutron scattering measurements

The Delaire group uses inelastic neutron scattering (INS) to measure phonons and magnons in crystalline materials, typically as a function of temperature, and sometimes under applied external fields (electric/magnetic fields).

A nice news story from Oak Ridge National Laboratory about our neutron scattering measurements, featuring the work of PhD student Tyson Lanigan-Atkins, can be found here.
